Classic Margherita Pizza

A simple yet delicious traditional Italian pizza with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough ball (about 250g)
  • 80g tomato sauce
  • 125g fresh mozzarella cheese, torn into pieces
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare the oven

    Preheat your oven to the highest temperature (usually 500°F/260°C) with a pizza stone or steel if you have one.

  2. 2Shape the dough

    On a floured surface, stretch or roll the dough into a 12-inch circle.

  3. 3Add toppings

    Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Distribute the mozzarella pieces evenly.

  4. 4Bake

    Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

    Remove from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and top with fresh basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper.
